Traveling out of state for the first time

My first trip since Covid.

It’s like a breath of fresh air.

When my cousin Dave called and asked what I was doing for Memorial Day weekend, I jumped at the chance to getaway. I began researching the area to see what we could do for the long weekend and booked an overnight stay in Cook Forest.

I discovered that I was going to be in the area of the darkest sky in the northeast, I watched the weather and began planning. Ohio and PA have the same weather. It can quickly change. When you have good clear days, you take advantage. A hopeful highlight of the trip was Cherry Springs State Park. Cherry Springs State Park is an 82-acre Pennsylvania state park in Potter County, Pennsylvania. The park was created from land within the Susquehannock State Forest and is on Pennsylvania Route 44 in West Branch Township. Due to its exceptionally dark skies, Cherry Springs State Park is one of the best places on the eastern seaboard for stargazing and the science of astronomy, which is the study and observation of planets, nebulae, galaxies, stars, and other heavenly bodies.

While the weather didn't cooperate, I didn't let that stop my storytelling or my photography. Watch to the end of the video for some great "moody" photos!!
