Understanding that there is always something new to love in life is a great feeling. I've been tossing the idea of investing in a kayak, but before I took that $$ plunge, I wanted to try it out. I have a few friends in Ohio that regularly go out, so when one offered, I took her up on that offer and we drove to Nimisila Reservoir.

Nimisila Reservoir is one of the 13 bodies of water that make up the Portage Lakes which is a part of Summit Metroparks. At 825 acres, it's the largest body of water in the park district. Nimisila Reservoir was the last of the Portage Lakes to be created.

I personally have gone kayaking, canoeing, and white water rafting during different aspects of my life. All of my experiences were amazing (including the day-long rafting trip) however over the last year, I've been wanting to get back into kayaking and actually invest in a compact, lightweight model.
