My first RV Show Experience.

When I traveled across the country with my grandparents, we had the Chevy truck and a pop-up camper. Years later they purchased a smaller C Class. As kids when we would stay with my grandparents, the kids would crash in the motorhome when the house was full (or even if it wasn’t). .. we loved the idea of the motorhome.

This past weekend I attended my first RV show for my birthday. Wasn’t quite sure what I expected, thought there would be more of a choice to see what actually exists, (like Car Shows) however, as it was run by a dealer, they only brought what they carry. Which not quite sure why they just didn't have the show at their lot.

It left me wishing RV shows were like the Car Shows that exist. Everything is there to see, walk-in and experience.

The photos above are of a few of the models they had, mostly the large mansion on wheels. While nice, it's not something I think I ever want.

Did discover they have one in California in October in Pomona, so I’ll be making another trip before I decide. For me, I have to research, even looking at the new Motorhomes, trailers, 5th Wheels, it gives you a sense of space, options that exist. Do I want new, Used? Trailer? Motorhome?

Most of the RVs were 5th Wheels and tour buses (aka mansion on wheels). While I was impressed with the amenities for some of these machines, they are just too big to really travel with for me.

After walking up and down and standing in multiple showers; I did determine that a 23ft Class C would work, however…  I know I would be happier with a 25ft, as it would give more room in the kitchen and living area.

Wish List (always changing)

  • Round shower (provides more room)

  • Longer Counter in Kitchen Area

  • Solar Ready

  • 1 Slide for more living space

  • Main Bed in the back

  • Storage Above the bed

  • Pass-through Storage

  • Two seating areas (convertible table and bench/chair)
